The Tree Church of New Zealand is “framed” by the planting and weaving of Cut Leaf Alder and other trees. The trees are spaced near each other, and as they grow, their trunks and branches are woven to create a living structure. As the structure grew toward its peak, the artist used various other species like Copper Sheen to create wall and canopy coverings.
